Music Title : Flowers In a Riot of Color
Chinese Bamboo Flute music
In mythos and fairy tales, deities and other great spirits test
the hearts of humans by showing up in various forms that disguise
their divinity. They show up in robes, rags, silver sashes, or
with muddy feet. They show up with skin dark as old wood, or in
scales made of rose petal, as a frail child, as a lime-yellow
old woman, as a manwho cannot speak, or as an animal who can.
The great powers are testing to see if humans have yet learned
to recognize the greatness of soul in all its varying forms.
Clarissa Pinkola Estes (Women Who Run with the Wolves)
To be commanded to love God at all, let alone in
the wilderness, is likebeing commanded to be well
when we are sick, to sing for joy when we are dying
of thirst, to run when our legs are broken.
But this is the first and great commandment nonetheless.
Even in the wilderness - especially in the wilderness -
you shall love him.
We need the tonic of wildness...At the same time that
we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we
require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable,
that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and
unfathomed by us because unfathomable.
We can never have enough of nature.
Henry David Thoreau
